Mobil Oil
Mobil’s history begins with the Vacuum Oil Company, founded in 1866,
which was later acquired by Standard Oil in 1879. After the 1911 breakup
of Standard Oil, Vacuum Oil merged with the Standard Oil
Company of New York (Socony) in 1931, eventually becoming
Mobil Oil Corporation. Mobil was known for innovations like
pay-at-the-pump and mobile payments, and in 1999, merged with
Exxon to form ExxonMobil. US Company
