The Canon QS-100 is part of Canon’s “QS” series of portable electronic type-
writers, which were first released in 1995. The “QS” prefix stands for “Quiet
Sensation”. Canon, a Japanese company, has a long history in imaging and
optical products, but also ventured into the typewriter market,
including electric and electronic models. The QS series was
manufactured in Taiwan, and the models ranged from the
entry-level QS-50 to the top-of-the-line QS-700, with various
models in between.
