This is a collectible Khadi Hundi, a type of prom issory note
issued in India. Khadi Hundis were used as an exchange m edium
for khadi (hand-woven) cloth and could only be redeem ed at
specific Khadi Bhandar outlets. The notes were issued
by the All india Khadi and Village Industries Board/
Com m ission to prom ote self-reliance and com m em orate
Mahatma Gandhi’s dedication to the spinning movement
