Delacre
Delacre is a Belgian brand known for its high-qual-
ity biscuits and pastries, not toffee. The com pany
was founded in 1871 by Charles Delacre, a pharm a-
cist who initially sold chocolate, which was then a
m edicinal item . He later expanded into biscuits,
and his “Pacha Delacre” biscuit was
m arketed in 1891. The brand becam e a
supplier to the Belgian Royal Court
and is known for its exquisite crafts-
m anship and use of traditional Belgian
chocolate. W hile Delacre doesn’t spe-
cialize in toffee, they are fam ous for their assorted
biscuits and cookies, including Delichoc, Cigarettes
Russes, and Biarritz. In 1998, Delacre becam e part
of the United Biscuits Group.
