Enteroquinol
Enteroquinol, containing the active ingredient clioquinol, was
first m arketed in the 1930s by the Swiss m ultinational
com pany Ciba (later Novartis). Ciba aggressively
prom oted clioquinol worldwide, including in Japan,
where it becam e widely used for various gastrointesti-
nal issues, including diarrhoea.
