The “Dutch Baby” nam e in Dutch Baby m ilk powder
refers to Dutch Lady M ilk Industries, which was origi-
nally established in M alaysia as a trading com pany
called Friesland (M alaya) Incorporated in 1954. They
started by m arketing sweetened condensed
m ilk and later expanded into
producing other dairy products,
iinncclluuddiinngg infant form ula. The
com pany becam e the first m ilk com pany
listed on the Kuala Lum pur and Singapore Stock
Exchanges in 1968. In 1984, the brand nam e was
changed from Dutch Baby to Dutch Lady.
